About Ladwp solar power purchase agreement
LADWP has a power purchase agreement (PPA) for solar-generated electricity at a predetermined price over an extended period1. The PPA is for 375 MWac of solar power coupled with 385.5 MW / 1,150 MWh of energy storage2. The projects would sell their 200 megawatts of solar capacity under a 25-year power-purchase agreement with LADWP at a price of $19.97 per megawatt-hour3. This initiative bolsters the renewable energy sector and guarantees a stable revenue stream for solar energy providers, thereby encouraging more players to enter the market1.

What solar programs does LADWP offer?
To make solar more widely available to residential customers, especially those in neighborhoods with less access to solar technology, LADWP offers three residential solar programs: Solar Rooftops, Shared Solar, and Virtual Net Metering (VNEM), along with Feed in Tariff (FIT), and other commercial customer programs.
Does LADWP pay for a solar roof?
LADWP will receive all of the energy generated by the system and the home consumption will not be affected. The customer will receive a check or bill credit as payment for the use of the rooftop, regardless of the amount of solar energy produced from the system. For additional information, please read the Solar Rooftops Guidelines:
How many solar projects are there in LADWP?
With over 47 projects, there have been 25 megawatts (MW) of solar installed making LADWP’s energy greener. This is equivalent to the pollution reduction of powering 7,622 homes or taking 3,086 cars off the road annually.
How does a LADWP solar panel system work?
After passing inspection, the LADWP will build and own a solar panel system between one (1) to ten (10) kilowatts (kW) on the customer’s rooftop. This process includes designing the solar panel package and pulling a permit from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS).
Do I need an interconnection agreement with LADWP?
*NOTE: LADWP’s Interconnection Process is integrated throughout the Incentive Approval process. Additionally, if your solar system is smaller than 10kW-AC, you are not required to complete an Interconnection Agreement with LADWP.
