Scatec signed two lease agreements with Cameroon ’s national electricity company, ENEO. The deals will expand Scatec's solar and battery storage capacity in the country to 64.4 MW of solar and 38.2 MWh of BESS across two sites. The company completed the solar plants in Maroua and Guilder, in northern Cameroon, in September 2023.

The world shipped 196.7 GWh of energy-storage cells in 2023, with utility-scale and C&I energy storage projects accounting for 168.5 GWh and 28.1 GWh, respectively, according to the Global Lithium-Ion Battery Supply Chain Database of InfoLink.
